old Rott ... bleeding from rectum

Question
Hello.  My 14-year old male Rott has had what I would describe as minor bleeding from his rectum for the past couple of months.  No blood in his stools (noticeable anyway) -- those are fine, normal, etc.   After he deficates and comes back inside, if he sits down, he might leave a bloody smudge mark on the tile or something, which I will quickly clean up.  After about 5 minutes, the inflamed area sort of retracts back inside, and he's otherwise totally fine (old, but fine!).   However, the past 48 hours, the bloody smudge marks he's been leaving have been heavier, and a brighter red color.  He's not dripping blood "back there" by any stretch of the imagination, and doesn't seem to be any pain or discomfort whatsoever, and the area still does go back inside after 5 or so minutes following a bowel movement.  But, the fact that the blood is getting heavier is concerning me.   Is this hemorrhoids, or could it be something worse?   I am planning to take him into the vet day after tomorrow, but I am trying to prepare myself for what it "might" could be in advance of that.   His appetite is fine, energy level the same, etc. etc.   He does have a fatty looking cyst on his underbelly that has come up in the past couple of months, but it doesn't appear to bother him at all when we sort of mash on it, so I'm not sure if the two are related.  Any thoughts?   Thanks.

Answer
Your dog may have an inpacktion, the vet may have to under anaesthesia, clean out the area and put him on antibiotics and also take a colon cancer test, Is your dog neutered, many unneutered dogs get colon cancer because they were not neutered.  Good Luck with the vet, Sincerely concerned, Angela
