MALE DOXIE

I HAVE A 4 YEAR OLD GOLDEN RETRIEVER AND A 2 YEAR OLD LONG HAIR DOXIE AND IN THE LAST 2 DAYS THE DOXIE CRIES WHEN HE IS AROUND THE GOLDEN  AND TRIES TO HUMP HIM ALL THE TIME.
WHEN I SEPARATE THEM THE DOXIE WILL JUST CRY LIKE A BABY.
EVEN THOU THEY ARE BOTH MALES, IS THIS A HEAT ISSUE.

It could be dominance,often humping has to do with dominance rather then mating-and sometimes it's a bad habit,and it may be that a female is in heat nearby esp since this is recent

Also getting both dogs fixed if there not already will often reduce or get rid of this problem
