Question
my two year old male boxer is starting to show some aggression towards other dogs. I have a litter of nine puppies he plays with them sleeps with them and female. they both got out [male and female] but my male went after another dog this is the first time he has done this is it because of the puppies? before the puppies he was fine around other dogs until now please help?

Answer
Hi Jason,

Your male dog shouldn't be allowed near the new litter of puppies, until they have been weaned, and even then should be supervised when with the pups. He doesn't know the puppies are "his", and could easily hurt the puppies.

Your male dog's problem is that he hasn't been neutered, and his hormones are ranging. If you can't show your leadership in the "pack", you should consider having your dog neutered. A good way of enforcing leadership is by practicing the "Nothing In Life Is Free" method of dog training. You can read about that here:

Best of luck,
