Question
QUESTION: My vet didn't really say anything about his weight.

He's really hyper all the time, and active. I'm not sure if this is good, but I CAN feel his ribs... not too much but still a little bit. Whenever I feed him his meals he gobbles it up in like 25 seconds. It's crazy, really. I'm thinking of switching him up to two meals in a few months too.

ANSWER: My little dog is six years old and still hyper--she healthy but wired!! Anyway, just make sure you give him good exercise, good food, that he is not losing weight and you should be fine. You are now feeding him three times a day? Since he is thin but ok, don't change him to two yet. Sounds like things are ok with you though esp. if your vet didn't say that he was too thin or fat. HOw are his poops? And if you feel he is a bit thin, just just up his food A LITTLE, not a lot. Now is not the time to switch him to two larger meals, not if he is doing well. Sue

QUESTION: Umm his poop is like ok? lol. I'm not sure what is good and bad poop :P But he had giardia a while ago, but I'm pretty sure he's ok now. He has pretty solid stools .. umm.. sometimes when my mom feeds him carrots or lettuce or something he gets soft stools that look like diarrhea a bit.

Answer
Good poop is firm without any traces of blood or mucous. If you KNOW that the carrots or lettuce is causing a different type of stool then stop giving him those things. It probably isn't diarrhea at all, but a looser stool. I really have no way of knowing.

Also do you know what DIARRHEA is? It is interesting that many dog owners call something diarrhea when it is only loose stool. My suggestion to you is read up on reading food labels, dog's digestive systems and just learn the overall basics of having a dog. In the long run, it will really benefit your pooch. Good Luck, Susan
