puppy food change

I am beginning to change from royal canin to wellness, but on the back on the package for royal canin it says 5/8 a cup a day, and for wellness it says 1 1/2 cups per day! What is up here? Should I feed my puppy 1 1/2 cups?

You should be feeding a puppy chow now. Switching to an adult chow for the larger breeds at 4 months, slows growth and helps develop sturdier joints.

Your dog definitely should be narrower at the waist than the hips and chest. You should be able to easily feel the ribs, but not see them. Each dog is different. Standard recommendations are a good place to start, but each dog must have its food and exercise adjusted to its individual needs. If your puppy was doing OK on 5/8 of a cup, you might stay close to it.  You may want to look at the calorie content for both.  If the Wellness is lower in calories, you should increase it.  Just follow the link above to determine exactly how much.
