Dog food for bladder stones

My mini schnauzer just had surgery for bladder stones and  the vet told me that he needed expensive prescription food to avoid this in the future.  Are there any good dog foods on the market that would help him?  He is a 5 year old healthy, active dog.

My personal feeling with stones is either to have a home made diet formulated for you by a professional, or stay with the prescription food. Either way represents a fair bit of expense, but the home made food is far healthier for the dog as a whole. When  sugery has been necessary, I play it very careful with diet, so I'd either use the prescription food or look into a dietary consultation.
