Chewing rugs and furniture

Question
I recently got a Cairn Terrier. She is 4 months old and cute as she can be. I have had her for one month. Potty traing is going pretty well but she loves to chew on my area rugs and furniture. I went to the pet store and they told me to purchase ULTRA BITTER SPRAY which I did and have used but it is not working. Any suggestions? Thanks

Make sure she has plenty of excercise and
has plenty of toys that keep her busy. Cairns
are busy dogs. When you can't watch her make
sure she is in a place where she can't chew on
things she is not suppossed to. A crate is an
option. Private trainer is also good in your town.
