I have a 4 month old long haired sheperd pup dog,it has been lame for the past three weeks,it tends to drop its right shoulder when walking,I had vet check for problems with shoulder,legs and hips and he stated the dog was fine,is it common for pups to have this type problem or should I take some other action,is a little overweight at present could this have an effect?

Hi, it sounds like he might have Panosteitis. It is very common. Weight can have a big effect on it, so you do want to keep weight down on the dog. A lot of my larger shepherds had it. This is a good website with layman terms about the disorder. http://www.jersey.net/~mountaindog/berner1/lpano.htm
