Question
we have a 12yo German shepherd male and he has a lump on his nose no drainage or anything doesn't seem to bother him and it is mushy  what could it be?

Answer
By that age dogs develop many lumps and tumors.  Some are benign, and only need careful monitoring.  Others are malignant and need to be removed at once.  If it has been there for a while and seems stabile, you might let it go if he will be in for a routine visit before too long.  Otherwise, the vet may need to see it right away.  12 is getting old for a Shepherd, but he could have several more good years with good care.  We had a tumor removed from our 13 year old Lab, and she is doing fine now.
