why wont it stop?

i have a 7 month old sheperd, and he loves to eat fabric and paper, he has even gone as far as eating the grill cover.  he also seems to enjoy digging holes ( i mean trenches) in my back yard.  i buy him toys and play with him and anything else i can think of but the problem seems to only be getting worse.  help i cant afford to fill holes and replace anthing in that comes within reach of his mouth all my life.  any suggestions?  is this normal?

Hi Allison,  It sounds like your dog needs to go through some professional training.  He is at his testing stage (sort of like a 6 year old child) and is trying everything in the world to see what he can do.  Getting him started in obedience will help you get an upper hand on him.  A trainer that comes to your home will also help because they can help with the problems you are having there.  Hope this helps, and good luck.
