German Shephards

Question
I have a 3 1/2 month German Shepherd who is loosing some of his teeth as new sets are growing in behind them.  I have given him chew toys and tried to alleviate some of his pain by giving him a frozen washcloth to chew on.  My concern, is the bleeding of the gums that he is experiencing - is this normal?  If you have additional suggestions on how I can help him or criticisms of what I am currently doing, please let me know.
Thank you,
Jennifer Wooton

Answer
Hi Jennifer,  What he is doing is normal unless the bleeding is profuse.  Giving him plenty of chew toys helps.  You can go to WalMart and get really cheap soft toys that he can destroy for about 98 cents.  They are really soft and probably won't last that long, but they would be easy on his mouth.  Hope this helps,
