labour

hiya, we have a german sheperd bitch, and she is about due for having her puppies, we know nothing about this, but she has been yelping every so often, and looks like she has dropped alot, she is very restless and will not leave our side. Could she be in labour?

Hi Kat,  First you want to count 63 days from when she was bred as that would be her due date.  Some of what you are describing are things that they will do when they are starting labor.  They will also try to make a nest by tearing up things like paper, cloth etc.  They will also circle a lot and strain when they actually start labor.  Hope this helps,
