GSD colouring

Hi,
Looking to purchase a GSD, had a look at one but his colouring is quite dark. Will this lighten as he gets older, and will he have more of a TAN colour? His coat is mostly black, with very little tan. His face is black,apart from a little tan above his eyes. Also,he seemed very quiet when we were with him. Is this ok? The rest of the litter appeared more energetic. Thanks!

German Shepherds are born black.  They slowly get more tan over the next few months.  First it goes kinda white then tan.

If the pup is quiet it could mean he's a calm puppie.
