house training 8 week old GSD

We brought a 8 week old GSD home, He's very smart but I would like to know the correct way to house train him.  I have read several books and they all suggest different ways.  can you help? the pup is great. thank for any help

I would recommend housetraining using a crate.   Make sure it is the right size and that you never use it for punishment.   There is lots of information about cratetraining available.  If you have specific questions about this, you can use the followup question feature.
