3-year old Chihuahua with diarrhea for 3 days

Question
We boarded our dog at Pete & Mac's last weekend while we were out of town. We picked him up Sunday at 4:30pm and ever since early Monday morning, he has had diarrhea. He actually vomited a few times on Monday too, but hasn't since. He acts fine--plays, barks at squirrels, acts happy to see us, etc.--he's just consistently had diarrhea and I've consistently been cleaning up messes...my vet suggested a bland diet of white rice...but of course Scout (my dog) doesn't particularly love it. He would actually rather have his normal dog food...I'm afraid I'd be upsetting his stomach if I give him that, though...any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Answer
Hi Megan, This is a common problem when being boarded at a kennel.
Hope it is just a little virus he picked up.
Just feed his dog food but less of it.

Also, give him 1 pepto tablet in the am SEE here for Walker Valley Vet's dosages :
Pepto-Bisomol comes in liquid or tablets...
( I like the tablets)
LESS mess...

PEPTO-BISMOL:
Can be administered to dogs (never cats!) with upset stomach or vomiting.  Give one teaspoon per 20 pounds of weight every 4-6 hours for 24 hours, or until symptoms begin to resolve.

You can do Pepto for a few days - Call your vet again if he is not better or can't keep water down.
