Talkative Chihuahua

Question
Our Chihuahua (almost 8) coos and groans or -- it's hard to describe.  She can sound like a dove, making a gurgling sort of cooing sound, and sometime she makes a sound in her throat that is sort of like very soft humming on one note.  She does this especially when she is being petted.  So she makes this little noise, and I say something soothing back, and she makes another noise, and it's like we're talking, and it can go on quite a while.  OK -- I'm not that weird that I think she's talking to me, but it really is very cute and sweet.  Do you know of other Chihuahuas who do this?

No, I can't say that I've heard of other Chihuahuas doing this.  As long as she's in good health and there's nothing wrong with her trachea that's causing her to do this, maybe this is something unique to your little dog and a way that she's found to respond to you as a way of bonding.
