Question
We have had our 2 year old Boston, Maddie, since she was 8 weeks old, but she doesn't really respond to us, as much as she does to other dogs.  If we call her in the house, she will come to us, but if we try to pick her up, or bring her close to us, she runs away from us. Also, every time there is an open door, she runs as fast as she can down the street to the park, and won't come when she is called. Recently, we lost her for 3 days, as she followed someone home that was walking their dog. We have never had her trained, would this help? Or, what should we do?  She just doesn't seem loving and cuddly. Is this a common problem with Bostons?  Please help.  Also, she is still not completely potty trained, we really need help!!!!
Thanks for any help you can give us!

Answer
Hello, This is very bad indeed...and Not comman at all with bostons. I reccomend basic training in a private or group setting this will teach you how to teach how how to come when called and other impoartant things. Also until then it is highly reccomended you place a barrier a few feet from the front doors so that you can easily get in and out but she cant get too close to the door(ie a baby gate works well) as if someone picks her up the chances of someone giving back an adorable boston terrier are slim to none.
