Crown at top of skull

Question
I am considering purchasing an eleven week old boston terrrier female puppy. She has a very small white spot on top of her head where all the hair has not grown back in. Breeder says they all have a crown at birth and that the hair will eventually grow back. Her's is just taking longer that most. Does this sound right? Is it true? THANKS

Answer
Hi Michael...
That is not something I have ever heard or experienced with mine or any others I have come across. Generaly, bostons will have hair loss if they are stressed, and it will grow back. Pleasee take note of the living conditions of her home and the temperament of her parents. They should be happy and playful. If not then you are buying from a "mean breeder" who cares not for their dogs but for turning a profit. Pups from such breeders tend to have emotional problems that will be hard to overcome. Just like a home with kids...the home should show evidence that happy dogs live there, such as toys and visible food and water bowls. A too clean home without these things in evidence is indicative of dogs given little attention and that spend much of their lives in crates.
The best of luck to you...Lisa
