bathing

Hi

I have a 10 month old pup and she in a pain for having a bath.

I think Grace is scared of the water on her head as she hops, jumps and tries getting away and I end up covered in scratch marks trying to hold her.

Before we got her in August when she was 8 week old, she had never had a bath and I think this is why she hates having a bath. What do I do to keep her calm when we put the shower over her head?

Please help me.


It is a very big struggle.

Well this is just a phase and is age related too, all bichons tend to go through this at around 10-12 months of age, they will also forget all logical things that training has taught them and be a tad nuts for a few weeks... all normal.
Suggest buying a few little plastic ducks and place in bath make sure bathis not deep no more than to her ankles, use a shower head on warm and have her play with the ducks in the bath. If you feel anxious she will be also.

Make bath time fun time and so long as she doesnt feel like out of her depth she will be fine in a few more weeks
