Biting EVERYTHING

Question
Hi,
I acquired a male beagle pup for Mother's Day.  He was born on March 10, 2006.  Housetraining and crate training are going well.  My problem is that he bites.  He doesn't chew on stuff, I wouldn't be concerned so much with that, he bites me, my two year old, my six year old, my husband (who just wants to get rid of him at this point) and he attacks my weimeraner on the ankles, legs, ears, mouth.  He bites all the time, sometimes it can take me 20 minutes to get his collar on in the morning.
If I try to say no bite and cross my arms he will bite my arms, if I turn my back he will jump up and bite my hair, or my legs.  If the kids get up on the couch where he can't bite them, he just goes after the weimeraner.  If the weimer ignores him (mainly he just yipes, but he's bitten him once) then he goes after the cats, or me or the kids again.  I've tried yelping, it worked for a half a day, and now he doesn't care.  Loud noises worked for about a day, and after the weimer bit him, he left him alone for a day.  Right now he is alternating from his crate, to the patio, to being tethered in a small area of my living room by the couch, with the exception of feeding, walking, and play time.
Soon it is going to come to either a muzzle, or another home, I don't know what to do.
When I grab him by the scruff, he bites my hand, and when I lay him on his back, he bites.
If he is asleep on his bed, and you try to pet him, he wakes up and bites you.
This is turning into the worst mothers day present ever.
Thanks in advance,
Stephanie

Answer
I believe you are talking about puppy biting, right? I was not sure at the end of the email if he was biting aggressively or not. I will just talk about puppy biting right now.
You should go to the dollar store or department store and get a few spray bottles (and a water gun). When he is biting spray him and say "No bite". It works best if he doesn't know where it came from. If your husband is in the chair and you are getting bite on the sofa have him spray him and you say "No bite". I use to walk one of my subborn dogs loaded with a water pistol. Keep a bottle in each room and two in the room that you are in the most. When you take him outside take the water pistol or water bottle with you.
Have you tried lemons or bitter spray? Spray your hands down or rub the lemons on your hands. Then, go play with your Mother's day present. This works best if you over due the spray or lemons the first time. Warning- I found a beagle that loved lemons.
I know you are frustrated but, playful mouthing and nipping is normal puppy behavoir. It may take sometime to train him not to do it.
Althought you have tried a lot of training methods I would conutine doing them. Yelp louder (try to break glass). Stop playing and walk away for 30 to 60 seconds (that's a long time for a puppy). The spray bottle works great when he is biting your kids or other dog across the room.
I had a beagle that seemed like he would never stop nipping. I remember the day I said "NO BITE" and he stopped and licked me. One of the best days of my life =)
Good luck Stephanie. I hope this has helped alittle. If you are about to pull your hair out you can call or visit your local SPCA. Most of the offer free help.
