Question
Hi, my name is Kayla. I am the oldest daughter in the house. We consist of a mom, dad, 2 daughters, 2 female cats (fixed), and a male dog (fixed). The dog's name is Scruffie and he's a little over a year old. He gets along fine with the cats in our house. Scuffie is a stray we had taken in around Christmas last year and he has become one of the family. Recently, there has been a stray that had become friendly with my mother and I, and will slowly come near the rest of our family. My father let Scruffie out the frint door on a leash today. (Scruffie is always either inside the house or in the fenced-in back yard.) When my father let him out the front with the leash (which is done rarely) he went straight to the dog and began to pee on her! What does this mean? I asked my boyfriend about it, because he knows dogs really well, and he said that Scruffie either doesn't like that dog or he's marking "his" territory...(as if he is sayin that the dog is his). Please, if you can tell me, I would be much appreciative. Thank you.

Answer
Hello, Kayla. My names Cait and i live with 170 animals not counting the siblings. Not to say that your boyfriend is wrong, because he could be, but whenever my dogs don't like something, like another animal, they become threatening. If its just an object laying around, they eat it. The only time I've seen a dog pee on something (object or alive) their marking their territory. I hope this helps, and feel free to follow up. thanks =]
