Spaying a Cocker Spaniel

I have a 1 year old, female Chocolate English Cocker Spaniel whom I have not yet spayed. She is wonderful with children and other dogs, I am worried that when/if I spay her, her attitude will change. Is this a big possibility?

Answer
It is a slight possibility that you may see a temporary change. But most dogs are exactly the same personality after a spay as before a spay. And hormonal fluctuations around the times when she comes in season would also cause temporary changes. Sandy Case BFA MEd CPDT www.positivelycanine.com
