Question
Hello, I have a problem with a dog I am training. He has a condition where he bleeds if he has too much pressure on his nose. How can I train him? Can you recommend a coller for him?

Thank you!

Answer
Hi, Nathan,

For collars that put the least amount of pressure on a dog's neck I would recommend either a martingale, or a prong/pinch  collar. If you're training him not to pull on the leash, and you're using a choke chain or a head halter, I'd either switch to the collars mentioned above, or use a Sense-sation Harness instead.

Just for clarification, when you say he bleeds from too much pressure on his nose, do you mean direct pressure from a head halter, or just any kind of pressure coming from a regular collar? If it's from a normal collar, or a choke collar, the martingale might not be much of an improvement. The prong collar would be the best collar overall, but the Sense-sation harness would cause the least amount of pressure to the blood vessels in his head.

Does this help you at all?
