Question
My chihuhua was recently attacked by two dogs and has 2 severe lacerations and several puncture wounds. I have taken her to my veterinarian and he has been treating her for 4 days now and she is doing better. I am concerned whether or not licking her wounds will hinder the antibiotic therapy she is receiving. Should she be stopped from licking her wounds?

Answer
my dogs have licked their wounds before and they've turned out fine. I don't think you have to stop her from licking it so long as she dosn't chew on it. If you would like you may call the vet and ask if its a problem, so you don't have to go in and spend money on walking in. But i don't think it'll be a problem. Hope this helps. Feel free to do a follow up.
