Swimming

Question
I have a 7mo old blk lab / boxer mix.  She is a great dog and she loves swimming in the pool with us.  The only problem is trying to teach her not to get too close because she does a number on us with her nails.
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated!

There are nail grinding tools available (I've seen them advertised on TV and you can also find them on the internet.)  These are painless, handheld "sanders" that benignly (without in any way hurting the dog) take all sharp edges off the dog's nails.  Try one of those.
