QuestionI have a 17 year old longhair tabby. I am having trouble with him pulling his hair out. I brush him and it is not loose hair, he is just pulling tufts of it out. I suspect it may be behavioral because it started shortly after I quit allowing him to go outside. Poor thing only has one eye and I think he is a tad bit hard of hearing:) He is in otherwise great health for his age. The excessive hair pulling is causing him to vomit lots of hair balls so I have been giving him medicine for that. Any ideas on what I can do about this?
AnswerHi Misty,
Have you taken him to the vet for a check up? If not, I strongly urge you to do so. They should be able to tell you what is going on. It could be an allergy, or a skin condition, or just about anything. But, ingesting tons of cat hair cannot be good for him. I hope I have helped some. Write again if you have further questions. I always like to help. Barb
