Eating habits of a new kitten

Question
Hello,

I recently got a new kitten last Tuesday.  Everything about him is fine and normal apart from one big concern.

He is 9 weeks old and he doesn`t want to eat kitten food - not dry or moist kitten food.  Everything is fresh but he just turns his nose up at it.  I have tried feeding him tuna too but again he takes one sniff and runs off!!  I was eating natural yoghurt the other day and he seemed to like that - especially if he licks it from my finger.  He also likes cheese spread.  I know that I shouldn`t be feeding him these but it is the only things that he will eat (but not that much of it).  He likes milk too. He then starts yelling because he is hungry and jumps up when he smells food but then doesn`t want to eat it.  In every other way, he is like a normal kitten - so he isn`t lethargic or withdrawn.  Is there anything that you can recommend?  Thank you very much.

Answer
Eva,

Don't feed your kitten table scraps.  Eventually your little guy will eat kitten food - giving them table scraps isn't good for their health.  Cats are by nature lactose intollerant, and if you're giving him milk and cheese, then you could be damaging his digestive system.

He will eventually eat what you are feeding... try a different food - perhaps it's just the forumla that he doesn't like.
