10 week old Sibling Kittens

Question
My boyfriend just got two kittens today and I know he doesn't know too much about caring for them.  I've had a cat or cat(s) all 18 years of my life so I'm trying to help him, although the last time I had a kitten like that I was 8, so can't really remember too much.  He was told they are 10 weeks old, brother and sister.  He can't afford too much right now, but I want them to be taken care of.
Is there like a timeline or something that would tell me all the important things you need to know for the first year, such as diet changes, and when they should get shots and of what kind. Also, is there a possiblility of them interbreeding?  At what age are they both able to mate? He certainly doesn't need more kittens.  I'm really excited about the adorable kittens, but I want them to be healthy and have proper care.  Any advice would be helpful.  Thanks

Answer
Hi Tracie!
Kittens are so much fun! They need to have their first set of kitten shots now.  A booter should be given in three weeks, then after that, once a year.  Yes, they will breed when they are old enough, so you need to also schedule an appt to have them fixed. Kittens can be spayed or neutered at a very young age now.  You may also want to have them dewormed.  The best thing for them right now would be a visit to your Vet for shots and deworming. While there, you can discuss the best time to have them fixed.
Good luck!!  Have fun!

God Bless,
Becky
