Mrs.barb:
I have heard that the father and his kitties can't get along and sometimes kill them.I have a 1.5 years old turkish angora father and 2 months old kitten. Is there any way in the world prevent this aggressive behaviour from the father.I don't want to get rid of any of them.please help.
         thank you
Answer -
This is largly a myth.  Just watch the father with the kittens, and you will be able to tell if he is agressive toward them or not.  They should be just fine.  Just use common sense.  The myth about male cats eating their young is what we call "an old wives tale".... and just not true.  Let me know if I can help further.

Answer
This behaviour is not uncommon between two cats.  How old is the kitten?  What sex is it?  Try getting fishing-pole type toy and playing with them both together...  if you can get them to play together, that helps them be friendlier.  Also, get a spray bottle filled with water, and whenever one attacks the other, spray them with it.  They don't like to be wet, and they will eventually get the idea.  But do play with them together, that will help most of all.  Write again if you need help.  Barb
