Question
How old is a cat when she no longer can have kittens?

Answer
Hello Barb,

This is actually an interesting question, because female cats are much different than female humans in this respect. In female cats, it is possible for them to have kittens at any age, as they do not go through any sort of menopause. However, much like in humans, as the body grows older it will be less likely to function to its full potential all the time. As such, as female cats grow older, they will be less likely become pregnant, and generally if they are pregnant, they will have fewer offspring. There is evidence of cats as old as 30 still reproducing and bearing two kittens, however this is not likely, and most cats will not live to that age. If you have any more questions about age and pregnancy, feel free to ask.
