partner and I had to go back in the room 2 get some if our guests
belongings and she attack us wd left hef locked in the room over night I
let her out the afternoon after and all appeared to be ok for around 15ims
rubbing on our legs etc when all of a sudden she comes flying into the
room at claws drawn hissing at me. I'm scared to be around her now Is
there a way to calm her down?

Answer
Gemma,

I have seen this before, and the prognosis is none to good. First of all, at 5 weeks of age, the kittens can be weaned.  I would also see if you can get her in a carrier and off to the vet.  If there is a medical issue and the cat is in discomfort, aggravated by the kittens, this kind of behavior can result. Often spaying can mitigate the behavior if it problem is medical. On the other hand, in rare cases, the whole birthing/nursing business changes the personality of the cat and they become attack cats.

I think your vet is in a better position to counsel you on this, after a thorough checkup.

The important thing now is to get the kittens away from mama and get them weaned!

Let me know what happens.
