Question
Hi,

I have a 6 year old Persian/ house cat mix, spayed female. I've owned her for about 2 years now and she comes from a sort of abuse home, but from what I understand from previous owner she was bullied badly by the other cats in that home, to a point where she was always hiding on top of tall furniture, When I got her she had some bald spots on her fur, and shedding terribly, so she had obviously had some rough time.

She is much better now and does not hide and her coat is good. My concern is her temper, She's very lovely, she loves to mark me, and lick my fingers when I pet her, she will sometimes stand on my thigh while I pet her, her tail will vibrate and she will mark whatever objects is in reach and she purrs nearly constantly, But fairly frequently she will randomly begin to growl and complain (while still purring and flagging her tail) it's not quite the type of growl she gives stranger cats, but more like a whiny version of it. She will also give out a long whiny growl like this if I touch her tail a lot, or gently grab it and give it a very gentle slight tug. I most certainly do not pull her tail but maybe someone used to. I just don't know. But she does not leave and she keeps purring (assuming I don't continue)
She also randomly does this when I pick her  up, or if I gently poke/stroke her when she's sitting around me.

I wonder if these things are just annoying her and she's quick to let me know it is without getting too upset about it.

She also does this when I wrestle her, she likes to play she will roll on her back and grab my hand, bite it very gently and lick it, quickly get up to move in for another attack, I wiggle my fingers and the whole time she's purring but then suddenly she will do this growl, I stop she gets up and rubs her head on my hand and tries to go in for more games with me.

I have other cats in the home, an 8 year old spayed female I rescued from the eternal slumber and a 2 year old neutered male that belongs to my roommate, They get a long, they aren't best friends but they get along and my cat and the male will sometimes play and tease each other. So I am unsure if she is under stress from the other cats judging from her previous experience with cats.

She also chirps when she meows, like a creaking rusty door, that's how I describe it, not sure if that's normal or something to be concerned about.

And another thing to note is that she has terrible eyesight, her kitten booklet from the vet that I got with her states it and I tested it myself, she barely sees objects, strings, laser beam or a toy ball if it is close to her, she does see things much better further away, probably why she prefers to sit up high.

I just want her to be happy with me, but her random whiny growls concern me a great deal (never hiss, she never hisses unless at stranger cats, she never hisses at her house mates anymore, she long stopped doing that and they all have)

Answer
Hi Markus,

First off, if she doesn't like you touching her tail then don't. She is letting you know with her growl that she doesn't like it. Here's a little guide to cat talk. It's pretty interesting.

This should help you. Good luck and take care.
