Question
Hello, i'd love to have a cat, but i live in a ground floor flat. i had dismissed the idea of having a cat due to no garden and no access for the cat to go outside. although, a friend recently told me that there are certain breeds of cat renowned for being 'indoor' cats and don't need to go outside at all. is this true? and if so, which breeds would they be? thanks

Answer
I do not know about where you live. But purebred breeders are adamant about all people keeping their cats indoors.
The cats are to be provided with litter boxes and some with pens in the garden, but most are always indoors and survive in fine fettle until a ripe old age, without ever going outdoors.
Any breeder will demand that their kitten be kept indoors by contract, so there is no need to be concerned. You must have the kitten neutered or spayed so there is no desire to wander.  Then you will have a delightful, loving pet for perhaps twenty years with good care and feeding.

So as you can plainly see, you do not have a problem.

Good luck!
