Diarrhea & Constipation

How to treat dog for diarrhea?  And how to treat dog for constipation?

Answer
For diarrhea, feed a bland diet such as boiled burger and rice with plain yogurt.  Ideally a 24 hour fast first is best to help cleanse the system.


For constipation, you can give mineral oil mixed in canned food or a tablet of Dulcolax twice a day until a BM.


If chronic problems, then best bet is to have x-rays done to check for inflammatory bowel disease or a blockage.
