Pekinese with Strange Behaviour

Dear Dr. Gotthelf,

My peke 11 months old since coming back from a grooming session, he has been acting strangely. The hair around his anus has been trimmed for hygiene purposes. After that he will frequently sit on his butt with his head on the air and starts rocky back and fro, rubbing the butt on the floor. He looks like he is gulping for air when doing that! It has been 2 weeks and he is still doing that although the hair around the butt has grown back! I also checked the butt area and don't see any inflammatory there.

I don't think it is the anal gland since I took him to the vet right after the grooming session for other reason and the vet has checked his gland  as a normal practice.

There are other information about my pup that you may need to know. His testicles haven't decended and accordingly have to be surgically removed when he is older. Not sure if it is connected to this behaviour or not.

Please help. I also taken a short clip of his behaviour using my mobile phone but I don't know how to attach to this message.

If his butt is itchy after groomig, it could be that the anal glands are irritated or that the shave burned or cut him.  Ask the vet to check the anal glands.  Sometimes a shot of a steroid will take down the inflammation and give some comfort to the dog's butt.
