Hamster Shock

Question
Last night a clock fell off the wall and hit the bedroom compartment of our hamster's cage with a big bang. We were worried that she might be hurt and so got her out to have a look at her. When we got her out her heart was beating very fast and she wasn't moving. We put her back in her cage and after about half an hour she walked, extremely slowly, back to her bedroom. We didn't want to disturb her again and so left her for the night. This morning we couldn't get her to come out of her bedroom, although we noticed a little of the food we'd put down had been moved. Should we take any further action or leave her alone?

Answer
My sincere apologies for the delay.  I have been dealing with some health issues and fallen terribly behind.

In cases of fright animals can take a while to revert to their normal selves.  The elevated heart rate and pure panic response may go away quicker than return to normal behavior.  If she has continued to show signs please let me know how she is acting and I will see if I can offer any suggestion.

Again apologies for the delay.
