Question
QUESTION: I am buying it from Swansons and it is a full spectrum cinnamon.  375mg caps.  I wish I had access to a holistic vet.

ANSWER: Hi- Looks like a good product - I see it has some additives but they look ok.. I do have a friend that is a Holistic  VET and she charges 50.00 per 30 minute telephone or e-mail correspondence.  She is a Certified Holistic VET and very good, too.

Oh, and you know I am "free of charge" but also, not a VET.

Anyway, let me know if you want her info and services...???

Talk to you soon.

I would think 1 of the 375mg will be fine... Just one per day and see how it goes.

QUESTION: Marie, since last we talked I have come into more information.  I understand that as people and dogs get older they naturally and gradually lose kidney function.  I have also learned that high protein levels can cause stress to kidneys (especially in seniors or compromised renal systems) Evo has a super high protein level which I understand is great for working dogs or agility dogs or dogs with high activity levels. But I am afraid to feed a food with such a high protein level to my senior dogs??? Especially Cricket who is the Diabetic we were discussing. How much protein should a diabetic dog get?  I know this is a controversial subject however, when it comes to my dogs health I do not want to debate.  I would rather err on the side of caution.  What do you think of Eagle Holistic Select Senior?

Answer
Hi again- Innova is perfect for Cricket because you need to be concerned about Low Carb - protein is secondary... The carbs is the main problem for a diabetic.
You can do homemade one day and alternate with the Innova Evo-

YOU can do a combination of Evo and Natural Balance Venison and Sweet Potato, 2 parts Evo to 1 part NB.  If you want something just a touch lower protein you can blend them.

About Evo and Kidney:
***EVO is within the recommended amount of phosphorus and would be fine in dogs that do not have a history of kidney problems within the breed (like Schnauzers for example).....
