Cat Senses.

Our relative has a Cat which got lost about 5 kilometers far from their house while travelling in a Car near a river bridge. The cat jumped out of the vehicle.

The Cat returned to the House after 8 days of its own.

Is this unbelievable ?. But its is a Fact.

Will you attribute this to Cat's Smell for tracing his master's house ?.

While this is Not a veterinary question, I can only tell you that NOBODY know how/why cats and dogs find their way home after being lost, etc. 5 kilometers is not very far. I have known horses, very old horses that have made their way home by somehow crossing hiways and rivers without getting hit by a car or truck or being caught. This horse was sold and came home twice.
His owner decided that the old horse deserved to live at home so he kept him until he died.

That's all I can tell you and that Wikipedia doesn't know everything and is not considered credible information. We do not allow it for references at the college level.

Tell your relative to carry their cat in an enclosed carrier and these things won't happen. For every RARE cat that makes its way home- most are killed and never seen again.
