HELP??

Question
I have just noticed what looks like knats, only in the water between the rocks..I was just wondering what they are and are they harmful?
Also I have noticed little white sprial things, with what looks like flowers on the end of them, all over the walls mostly around the rocks, and was wondering if they are harmful and if you know what they are either?

do you have live rock in your tank ? If you do they may be stow-a-ways that were in your rocks and they are now coming out.  They might be a Medusa worms. these guys are harmless scavengers.  It is hard for me to pinpoint what they are.(because I can't actually see them)   Try to capture a couple of them and bring them down to a local pet store that deals in marine fish. They should be able to tell you on the spot. i do not thimk they are harmful are your fishing acting strange ? They could be a parasite but I doubt it.  Let me know how you make out.
