Squirrels

Question
Have you ever heard of Squirrels taking Gold fish out of a Garden Pond .We had one run out from under a net we put on the pond in Fall to keep leaves out .He had a Fish dangling out of his mouth as he ran away . We were amazed .Have you ever seen this before?

Hi Pat,
Thanx for the question.  I cannot say I have ever seen a squirrel eat or fetch after another animal.  I have always seen them going after nuts or tomatoes or fruit.  Sometimes they are attracted to bright colors or metallic flashes and the squirrel may have grabbed a goldfish thinking it was something s/he could use to decorate the nest.  Who knows?  I've never heard of anything like that.
