Question
I would like to set up a small backyard fish pond to accommodate 3-4 goldfish. I would like to use solar powered products only. Is there a kit that comes complete or do I need to piece together the products? I have no experience. Thanks!!

Answer
I've never seen a solar pump with a kit.  If it were, it would probably be overpriced.  I suggest getting the liner or pre-formed pond separately from the pump.  I've had a few solar pumps.  Take note that they don't move water when it's cloudy or at night which is when fish need it the most.  Mine also clogged a lot.  For a few goldfish, I suggest at least a 100 gallon pond and an electric pump if you can get electricity out there.  Goldfish can grow more than a foot long easily.  If you want a smaller pond, I suggest smaller fish, like rosy red minnows.

My web site at http://www.fishpondinfo.com/pond.htm has lots of pond information to get you started.

Good luck!
