Winterizing Pond with Fish

Question
We recently bought a house with a small pond and waterfall.  We currently have about 8 fish (gold and Koi).  The pond is about 4 feet in diameter with the deepest part about 24 inches.  I know I need to take the pump out and clear the pond of debri.  But if we want to keep the fish in all winter long (we live in Michigan) what steps do we need to take?
