Floating pond

We installed a backyard pond in may. since then, every time we get a heavy rain, the dirt around the border sinks below the pond and the pond seems to float. we've tried to border the edges with rock and even put cinder blocks in the pond to try to weigh it down. can you suggest anything?

Hi Nathan,
You didn't state how large your pond is but I would suggest it is rather small that is why it floats and also is somewhere in your garden where the water settles after a heavy downpour,to be quite honest the only thing that I can think would help, would be to move your pond elswhere in the garden.
I know that is not very helpfull but it is the best that I can do.
