sick little fish

please anybody that can help please do
ive had  a little  orange cute survivor guppie for about 8 months  he was  the first little guy  i put in my tank so i love him a lot ! but lately he appears  as or he is very sick or he is about to  die i am not an expert and dont know  all the info
but he was fast swimming up and dowm eating not afraid of the big fish  now  sadly he has been at the bottom of the tank for 2 days  just like sitting on the gravel
if you come near him he will try to swim away but not to the top still down on the gravel  he lost  some weight and seems  to be  breathing fast and short  we also noticed some black spots on his mouth and little body  what can i do ?

please help before its too late

Hi Randi,
Thank you for your letter. From what you write, it sounds like over feeding. Too much food pollutes the water. The tendency is to add chemical treatments, but that cannot help if the problem is too much food.
