Question
I have a tropical fish tank.  Everytime I buy new fish they die.  However I have a fish that has been in there for 6 months.  The ph level is very low.  Can I add baking soda to raise it?

Answer
hey linda,
I'm not sure if baking soda would do the trick, but I know that they sell drops that lower the pH in tanks. If you have pH testers, then try putting some of your tank water in a container and trying it out. If after you test the pH and it is lower, maybe it will work.

I am not sure if baking soda will harm your fish by adding it in your tank, but I guess since they are all dieing anyway it might not hurt to try. Just be careful and keep checking on your tank to make sure they are okay.

good luck trying this out, hopefully it works without harming your fish. =]
