Question
My Dalmatian Molly i only bought yesterday is pregnant, to be fair we did know, the woman told us, but how do we care for her? we have a small shark and an angel fish in the same tank but we separated the molly with the breeding net, and how do we know when shes going to have her babies and how many will arrive? oh ye and what does it look like when she's in labor??????

Answer
Females can be pregnant for 4 weeks, if she is starting to look square in the back, then she is close to dropping her fry.  She can have 50 or so fry, but most don't and the younger they are the less they will have.  When she is ready to give birth, she will lay on the bottom of the net and breath a little heavy.  You will have to keep the fry separated till they are <--> this big.  You will also have to keep the water in your tank really clean and pour clean water in the breeding net to prevent growth inhibiting hormones from build up.  I hope this helps.
