no electricity aquarium keeping possible?

Question
Hello!  DH and I are building an off-grid cabin, which will become our full-time residence in about a year.
I have kept "Jack Dempseys" for years (one at a time) in small (15-20gal) aquariums.  We will not have "extra" electricity for running aquarium lights, pump and heater.
Do you think i can maintain an aquarium without electricity/batteries?  I use undergravel filtering system. I sure will miss "cichy-baby" (and the sound of water bubbling.)  Thanks in advance for your time and help.  gina

Answer
Hi Gina: There are ways to keep fish without electricity and the use of batteries.  It is a long process to explain this here... so let me see if I can find a link on the web that will help you... the clue to all of  this is "Gravity if free for everyone"... another important fact is... that the energy that is used to drive filters, etc will be the same... so part of that energy/labor will be transfered to you....   stay tuned... dave
