Question
hi i just started a tank and i have a pair of tiger barbs and a pair of albino tiger barbs..i've been reading and everyone says i need to have 6 tiger barbs total but i wasnt sure if i needed 6 tiger barbs and 6 albino tiger barbs for them to get along with other fish or if i could mix 3 different pairs of barbs to have 6 total barbs in the tank..anything you can offer would be very helpful.thanks!

Answer
Hi Emily,
Mixing barbs together is ok.  Since they are schooling fish, they may or may not school with the other kind.  If they all school together, then you dont need 6 of the same ones, but if you notice the "like" ones split off into another group and away from the others, then I would get more of them.
