my red tail shark

Question
Hi, I've only had my tank set up for a month or so, and am quite a novice so any advice is appreciated. My red tail shark's dorsal fin has a white edge to it (doesn't look fluffy but more like the black has changed colour to white)...her fins underneath her also have a smaller white edge to them...could it be fin rot? If so how do I go about helping her?
As I said any advice would be greatly appreciated, many thanks, Mark

Answer
Hi Mark

White edge on the Redtail Shark is normal coloring for a female. If the fins are not torn and she is acting healthy (swimming and eating normally) then I wouldn't worry about her. Check your water parameters regularly and perform your weekly tank maintenance and she should be just fine.

Hope this helps, good luck!
