Question
Hi, i observe my fish alot and any little thing i see i am curious about. This is one of those little things i just cbserved. My mollies poop is green. Usually her poop is a dark brown like all the others. Could she be ill or something? Stressed? It reminds me of a green rubberband because their really long. She has been spending alot of time on the right side of the tank on either the top or bottom. It is just very out of her character. My tank is a 45 gal, i have 5 other species of fish, im trying to keep the temp around 80. Im looking for any type of answer.:)

Answer
Hi Jennifer,
It could depend on many many things. It is not normal for her to stay at one end of the tank.  Watch her closely, one of the other fish may be stressing her.  The rule for mollies, platies, guppies and most other fish is 2 or more females to one male.  If she is the only female, it could be that she is stressed by the males.
Have you checked your PH?  Make sure your PH is above 7.5 as mollies must be kept in alkaline water.  Have you add aquarium salt to your  water?  If not add 1 teaspoon to 5 gallons of water.
Do you have ammonia in your water?  This is the number one killer of fish.  Check your ammonia level, and if it is too high, do a water change, and get it down to safe.
I can't think of anything else at the moment, unless she develops something else.  Check to see if the food is not outdated.
Hope this helps
